    Resolution

    Note: If you are not confident following these steps, contact Sage Support Number for assistance.

    1. Back up each company, “How to make a backup” in Related resources section
      Note: It is recommended to save the backup(s) to the desktop, then copy onto removable media (such as a USB drive).
    2. Find and note the program path and data path for each currently installed version of Sage, “How to find data path and program path” in Related resources section
    3. Open Control Panel, and then Programs & Features
    4. Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\ (32-bit operating system) or C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ (64-bit operating system)
      • If present, delete the following folders:
        • Peach
        • Pervasive Software Shared
    5. Browse to C:\Program Files (32-bit operating system) or C:\Program Files (x86) (64-bit operating system)
      • If present, delete Pervasive Software folder
    6. Rename the program path directory found in step 2
    7. Rename the data path directory found in step 2
      Note: Once all companies have been backed up, and the backup(s) moved to removable media, the data path and program path directories can be safely deleted, if desired.
    8. Browse to C:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\Local
      • if present, delete the following folders:
        • Aatrix Software
        • Sage
        • Sage Software
    9. Browse to C:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\Roaming
      • If present, delete the following folders:
        • Aatrix Software
        • Sage
        • Sage Software
    10. Browse to C:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\Local\Temp
      • Press Ctrl+A keys to select all files, then press Delete (skip any files that can not be deleted)
    11. Browse to C:\Windows
      • Note: Exercise extreme caution deleting items from the Windows directory; delete only the listed items.
      • If present, delete the following:
        • PeachInst folder
        • PAW[Version].ini (Peachtree Accounting for Windows)
        • PCW[Version].ini (Complete Accounting)
        • PPA[Version].ini (Premium Accounting)
        • PPAC[Version].ini (Premium Accounting for Construction)
        • PPAN[Version].ini (Premium Accounting for Non-Profits)
        • PPAM[Version].ini (Premium Accounting for Manufacturing)
        • PPAA[Version].ini (Peachtree Premium Accounting Accountants Edition)
        • PTX[Version].ini (Quantum Accounting)
        • PTXA[Version].ini (Quantum Accountant’s Edition)
        • PeachWLog.xml
        • pvsw.log
        • priorpervasive.xml
    12. Browse to C:\Windows\Temp
      • Press Ctrl+A keys to select all files, then press Delete (skip any files that can not be deleted) Press Windows+R keys
    13. Open the Registry Editor: Type Regedit, and then click OK
      1. Back up the registry, follow Article ID 13061: “How do I backup or restore registry keys in the Windows Registry Editor?” in Related resources section
      2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software
        • If present, delete the following items:
        • Peachtree
        • PEACHW Release [number]
        • Sage 50 E-mail Writer / Peachtree E-mail Writer (any versions indicated)
        • Sage Peachtree
      3. Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
        • Delete the following items, if present:
        • Peachtree
        • Pervasive Software
        • PEYX489ZK
        • Sage
        • Sage Technology
        • Sage Software, Inc.
      4. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node
        • Delete the following items, if present:
        • Peachtree
        • Pervasive Software
        • PEYX489ZK
        • Sage
        • Sage Technology
        • Sage Software, Inc.
      5. Close Registry Editor
    14. Delete any remaining Sage 50 desktop shortcuts
    15. Restart the computer
