- Log onto the computer as Administrator.
- Click on the Start button and enter “services.msc” in the search text field and press Enter.

- Double click on Windows Installer on the services list and select Automatic from the Windows Installer properties dialog box.
- Click Start and then click Apply to apply the changes.
- Finally, click OK to restart the software installation.
If the error is still not fixed, restart Windows and configure the computer for a “clean” startup. This will close all programs running in the background that might be causing the error.
- Go to Start and enter System Configuration in the search text field.
- Press Enter.
- Select System Configuration from the menu option from the programs list and enter password.
- Choose the Selective Startup menu option and clear the following check boxes: load startup items, load system services, and the use original boot configuration.
- Select Services, select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click on the Disable All menu option.

Check for full access to %Temp% Directory
Issues with Sage Taxation software can also crop up if the Installer is unable to access your Temporary folder where log files for installation are stored. To check if the folder is fully accessible,
- Click on Start. In the Search field, type %temp% and press Enter.
- If the folder opens up without issue, then %Temp% Directory is not causing issues with your software installation.
